Definitely agree. I always aim for Capital first (since I can just about get it at home), then Kiss if I can't get Capital.

Unfortunately not everywhere is covered by these two stations on FM, my area (and plenty of others) are covered by the much inferior Heart FM, which is a complete joke. The only way to get good coverage on Capital and Kiss is through the national D1 digital multiplex, which is broadcast in mono due to bandwidth restrictions!

They seem to be stuck in an old age and they still haven't improved their song-cutting techniques since I stopped listing in late 2013, i.e. 3 and a half years ago.

I'm not going to mention it again (I made a thread on TBAAJ detailing what heart FM have done today) but it just sounds unprofessional and offputting. Believe me, I'm not listening to Heart anymore for quite a while, especially when Capital and Kiss are about. Smile

Apologies regarding bumping the thread, however - Spotify, I could not help yet notice that you are talking about the Heart FM radio station... Rolling Eyes  Wink It does require considerable improvement as their segues are poor and they certainly lack music variety... unimpressed uninterested Hence, I rarely listen to them, unless I have to in the car - though even out of choice, I would not listen to Heart FM, as I do not like the music that most radio stations play; I think I will stay with my choice of SiriusXM, the Darkwave channel... Wink

Since I last posted here, I haven't bothered with Heart FM as they are still crap. As for their music library - who knows whether it has improved or not; they seemed to have changed their slogan but maybe that was because they weren't playing music variety! And the segues are likely still appalling; if I want to listen to music, I want to hear the whole song, not a random percentage of it (which was anywhere from 50% to about 85% back in 2013 - doubt this has improved).
If someone put Heart FM on with me not having a choice in the matter, I'd use my Bluedio Revolution headphones and play something from a mobile device; those headphones certainly isolate external sources well!

I haven't explored specialist stations like SiriusXM; I must look into the music that they play and what I give as a rating... but not before I go back to Kiss FM or Capital FM and get my daily dose of modern pop music... including most of the stuff from here: http://www.capitalfm.com/radio/playlist/
